We had some time before we were due at the Luzhniki Stadium to see the Russia vs Spain game so we went to the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics. It is topped by the sweeping Monument to the Conquerers of Space, with a rocket at the pinnacle.

There was a great display of Soviet poster art but the whole museum was not just dedicated to Russian achievement. There was a film and displays on U.S., Russian and other countries (Canadarm...) cooperation and achievements.

The Russia vs Spain game was certainly a highlight of the trip so far. Of the 78,000+ fans at Luzhniki stadium, probably 72,000 were Russia supporters. I will remember the constant chanting of "Rus-si-a" and the slap of thousands of seats springing back when fans leapt to their feet to get a better view of a possible goal. I had ear plugs in.
